When exporting AAF don't embed the media. Choose to Copy And Link to the media. And then have it do the copy to the same folder as you are saving the AAF file.
And if someone is insisting on getting an OMF then the probably need to update their system, update them selves, or you may want to consider not working with them. But if they are really that incredibly awesome then maybe you just have to kiss their ass.
