I put in the SSD myself. It's NOT hard. I also put in the RAM. Definitely get up to 16gigs of RAM.
The SSD is really more about initial launch speed from powered down.

I have 8 Gigs of Ram and its choking. Im used to checking email, surfing web, all that while importing. But everything is at a grinding halt and spinning balls all the time. VERY sluggish. Don't have an SSD in here either. so RAM upgrade is a must.

As I've mentioned before I put 16Gigs of RAM and an SSD in my 2011 MBP and it FLIES now.I think the RAM is most of it. MC7 is a MINIMUM of 8gigs of RAM, so if you have 4gigs, you're lucky if you can boot up at all.I have MC7 on a MBP and it boots up in 32 seconds.SteveOn Oct 23, 2013, at 10:31 PM, Lou Wirth <loutv@mindspring.com> wrote:Is it just me or does MC7 take much more time to open than 6.5? I have clocked it at almost 2 and half minutes to open up on my MBP. A 2012 MBP.
