Ah I have the answer..So if you export 16bit audio you get 8 audio tracks and if you export 24bit audio then you only get 4 audio tracks!Kind of makes sense but the 16/24 selection is deciding the number of tracks!NFrom: Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jon Wilkman

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] IMX files with 4 audio tracksHere's the real question. Are you sure they want MXF? I have clients who want IMX with 4 channels and they all want QuickTime MOV files with that spec. I've never seen someone asking for XDCAM MXF with only 4 channels. On Wed, Oct 2, 2013 at 10:38 AM, Edit B <bouke@...> wrote:< span>I believe the trouble is he ends up with 8 instead of 4...BoukeVideoToolShed

Even in stereo mode it should export four channels. From: Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Edit B

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] IMX files with 4 audio tracksNope.Quicktime is a very handy format to change attributes in a destructive way. Other formats are way more difficult in that aspect.(The destructive part is what makes QTchange so popular, it's fast...)MXF is a tricky one. Lots of flavours, and most of the time high compatibility issues. So i sometimes do custom work on MXF, but it's hard to satisfy every possible target.(Especially if people start brining in Baton stuff.)BoukeVideoToolShed
