How did you bring the footage in? Because for 5D shot at 23.976p, there is
only one way to bring it into a 29.97 project the correct way.

Open bin column FIELD MOTION
Change each clip one by one to PROGRESSIVE
Transcode.
Not setting the FIELD MOTION column to PROGRESSIVE will result in awful
looking stuff.
Setting the FIELD MOTION column to PROGRESSIVE will result in proper 2:3
pulldown and life is peachy.
