What AMA plug-ins do you have installed? This is might be a bug in a specific plug-in. Make sure they are all the latest version.
This was a bug in the past - v6.0 - where MC/SN was looking for volumes on networks.
As a test, disable all network connections. Don't just disconnect from the network, go into the Network System prefs, create a new location and remove all the interfaces and see if MC/SN launches faster.
