[Avid-L2] Re: Tricaster to Avid work flow

 

If the files are recorded using the default Quicktime format on the 455, All you will need to do is get the media files onto your system. You can use the removable drive, external drive or transfer over a network. Just tell your TD to record as much as he can. The 455 can record 4 HD streams, so use them all to get as much of your content as possible.

To get them into media Composer, just need to link via AMA. Having worked with a large amount of media from TriCasters, I can say now that NewTek has switched to a Quicktime recording format, life is much easier.

Also, as long as your system is decent, I've had a very good experience using these files via ama. Only transcoding for export.
