John,
The TC effect in Sorensen does indeed not look at the source file's TC, but rather generates a new one. Not very useful.
On a sidenote, would it be possible for you to change the text wrap settings on your email client?
I find it very hard to read your postings when the text lines auto-fill the entire width of the text window.
Job.

In trying to get around this I was trying to use Sorenson 6 to burn in the time code from a reference movie out of avid. QT 7 sees the sequence time code correctly. In Sorenson 6 there is a time code filter and I checked source time code and positioned upper left. I did a test render to QT choosing Avid DNX codec to create in essence a same as source QT that will later be used by Toast to make a Video TS file to be uploaded. Regardless of it's eventual use the time code window starts a 0:00:00:00 not the actual sequence drop frame time code. What does Sorenson 6 mean by source time code if it's not coming from the QT's time code channel? There is also the option on new time code but I see no way to set the time code start value to match my sequence time code. I'm not much of a Sorenson user other than some

Can Sorenson 6 take my QT ref file with timecode from avid sequence and burn that time code into the video of an Avid DNX export?
