[Avid-L2] Re: Sorenson 6 TimeCode Filter what is source timecode?

I'm running firefox with ATT ISP. I don't know if that even qualifies as an email client. I have been experimenting with QT Change I it does modify the QT file to display a time code burn in almost instantaneously. I'm not sure how this time code burn in exists as far as the video essence of the .mov. I tried to ama link to the QT change burn in modified file and on V6 MC at first I didn't see it. But a second attempt exporting a QT ref of the entire show, 1/2 hour, without the Avid time code effect seems to be working. I opened the QT ref file on my laptop and used QT Change with 60,60,60 for the hPos, vPos, Font size and once done I could see the time code burn in on QT 7 and QT 10. I then ama'd to this file and in avid it does show the burn in. Don't know why I didn't see it on my first attempt. Perhaps our Mr. VideoToolShed can shed some light on what is really happening and if the time code burn in is a QT player function that is an overlay within QT player. The ama link suggests that the Time code window is actually burned into the video and not in an overlay state. But I don't really know the details of this but it does seem to be a viable approach in the future. Mr. Bouke can you explain a bit of how this works. I must say it seems totally awesome for this.

In trying to get around this I was trying to use Sorenson 6 to burn in the time code from a reference movie out of avid. QT 7 sees the sequence time code correctly. In Sorenson 6 there is a time code filter and I checked source time code and positioned upper left. I did a test render to QT choosing Avid DNX codec to create in essence a same as source QT that will later be used by Toast to make a Video TS file to be uploaded. Regardless of it's eventual use the time code window starts a 0:00:00:00 not the actual sequence drop frame time code. What does Sorenson 6 mean by source time code if it's not coming from the QT's time code channel? There is also the option on new time code but I see no way to set the time code start value to match my sequence time code. I'm not much of a Sorenson user other than some

Can Sorenson 6 take my QT ref file with timecode from avid sequence and burn that time code into the video of an Avid DNX export?
