This is one of the increasing number of Avids where 5.5 never touches the system. It's a pre 5.5 to 6 nitris dongle upgrade, with a side order of phrasefind.
Going forward, 5.5 will no longer be part of the equation for many upgraders. Forcing customers to ditch the dongle would be an apple-esk move, and I don't think that's what Avid intends here. But, right now, to sell lucrative side orders of software to 6.x dongle owners, the ALC issue needs to be resolved. The installation instructions say it will work, but it does not.
BTW, has anyone seen a 4x4 license code for the new PF/SS options?
