This IS the Avid L2: [Avid-L2] ALT key non-op in MC6

Please excuse the dubblish posting - 1st wrote this on the community forums, but aside from some chat no positive response:

Mostly been tied to my Symphony 5.5x system of late, so just starting to explore MC6 on an Dell m6500, quadro 3800, 8GB ram on W7 64bit. Like tabbed bins on a laptop!

I cannot get the ALT key to work for KB shortcuts. In Settings/Interface it is checked; however, when I depress "ALT" I can see the underscored letter that should combine w/ the ALT key, but when I depress any of the choices, nothing happens. Tried toggling the setting OFF in Interface - which should mean that one presses and releases the ALT key prior to selecting underscored letter function, but also zilch. New user settings for MC6.

I imagine others use the ALT key combo a lot too -- and it's a major PIA to mouse it all -- so if anyone's got some insight here...most appreciated.
