Walter, you've probably solved this by now. There's no end to technical experts to be had, and you could probably call Panasonic and get someone on the phone: but if the problem still persists, it's probably with the deck settings, specifically hertz, and not the software. Haven't used that particular deck recently, but if I remember correctly there are different settings applicable to 24, 30 and 60, and the signal sent by the deck can completely throw off the sync between machine and software.
