Rupert can correct me if I have it wrong, but both of these apps only work with codecs that FCP normally understands, like XDCAM, AVC-I or DVCPROHD. MXF media from P2 or XDCAM is normally rewrapped into .mov files as part of FCP's Log & Transfer routine. The two apps create QT references linked to the MXF files so the media files appear to FCP as "normal" QT media files.
I'm not sure if FCP can dig into an Avid MediaFiles folder this way. I doubt it.
If you have a folder or virtual drive of P2 or XDCAM content, then theoretically, Media Composer could mount these via AMA and FCP could likewise access the files via MXF4Mac or Calibrated.
