OTOH, I have not done a film-based feature in FCP/CinemaTools. If I did and push-came-to-shove, I'd probably use Media Composer for that, because my 35mm feature experience tells me it's rock-solid.
EDLs are OK in "A" mode, but "C" mode is pretty messed up most of the time. Not sure why he has the trouble with effects. Not any clunkier than Media Composer. MC's fx controls are definitely long-in-the-tooth.
Mixed formats only got recently better in Media Composer late last year. So I don't see that as fair; however, definitely a growing deficiency in FCP.
