workflows and since i've had this issue a few times with p2 i asked
WTF. the consensus was corrupt metadata, possibly due to not using a
copy app that does checksum on the copy. one app mentioned that does
it right was ShotPut. a fix suggested was to use the panasonic p2
manager software to go into the metadata and change one insignificant
item - say, shooter name - and then save. this supposedly restores the
metadata somehow. without referring to my notes i wouldn't do anything
drastic without double-checking me, but this may lead you to a solution.
good luck. fwiw, it didn't seem to help my problem, but there was more
corruption going on there i believe. the important thing is to make
sure you have a true clone of your media off the p2 card to your
storage - don't just copy it from the card to a drive, which is what
(almost) everyone does.
