[Avid-L2] Couple things....

OOTO - I will be out of the office on vacation from Sunday February 14th, 2010 through Sunday February 21st, 2010 returning Monday February 22nd, 2010. I will NOT be available on email, PM, IM or cell during this time - no signals on the cruise ship ;)

Rob, Michel and the rest of the Avid folks that post will be around so you are in good hands. Note - I won't have my email autoresponder turned on due to the many list services I subscribe too so if anyone emails me off list( and a lot of you do )remind them I am on vacation and will reply when I return the 22nd.

Greg - still hunting down the digidelivery answer and should have it before I head out tomrorow. stand by....

Also note that Monday February 15th, 2010 is a US Holiday(Presidents Day) so Avid will be closed however rep's will be available for 7/24 contract customers.

A heads up..... We released a few new patches yesterday. Avid Media Composer v4.0.5.1, Avid NewsCutter v8.0.5.1, and Avid Symphony v4.0.5.1 were released to the Avid Editor Patch site

http://www.avid.com/support/downloadcenter/editorPatches.asp

These patches fix a number of outstanding customer issues, including:

UDevC00134882 - A Macintosh editing application in an Avid Unity environment was sluggish. This has been fixed.

UDevC00133609 - Audio Scrub performance had deteriorated. This occurred with software only or with an Adrenaline attached. This has been fixed.

UDevC00132426 - Nested effects were not rendering. This has been fixed.

UDevC00136385 - The system might have crashed if you utilized audio scrubbing (with Caps Lock enabled) while the Gang button was selected in the source/record window. This occurred when attached to Nitris DX hardware. This has been fixed.

The ReadMe is located on the Avid Editor Patch site and customers are encouraged to read it before downloading and installing.

IN addition to the new patches - we have new version numbers now for Mac patches. We amended the versioning scheme for Macintosh patches to align with PC patches; now customers using either platform should install the same patch version in order to receive the same bug fixes. This change only affects the version number of the release and not the installer package itself.

- PC patch releases are still small patches that must be installed on top of a previously installed application with a similar version (i.e. patch v4.0.5.1 for Avid Media Composer must be installed on top of Avid Media Composer v4.0.5).

- Macintosh patch releases are always full installers so customers must uninstall the previous installation before installing the patch release.

- This versioning scheme only applies to patch v4.0.5.1 and higher; previous patch releases will have different version numbers between Macintosh and PC systems.

Have a great week everyone…… and RT please behave :)
