[Avid-L2] How to import an Avid bin or ale from Arri Mini?

Sitting around with some background transcoding running and I thought I would try to open or import the Avid.ale or .bin that are located in the folder with the prores files from the Alexa Mini.  I gues I'm mistaken that the .bin file is an Avid bin as it won't open in Avid.  I assume the .bin file is something Arri uses to keep track of metadata?

There is a file with the name "A001R1JE_AVID.ale"
I figure that is an ALE I could import to a bin to then batch import the .movs and maintain some metadata.  I don't see any provision to import anything but an EDL.  Has the ALE been dropped or is it now something that has to go through the List Manager stuff.

I'm going to start googling but just curious how these workflows work as I have never really needed to utilize them in my workflows.  AMA has given me what I need but I feel there is a world of metadata out there just waiting to frustrate me.  ;-)
