I got the DNxIO because there was a trade in deal for my aja IO express. I had thought that unlike other BM IO options which use to have issues on Digital Cuts with a one frame of black at the in point the Avid branded box was going to fix that.
Bogdan recently confirmed that with the current Avid version of the Desktop 7 software his folks could make frame accurate video inserts. I don't know if the same is true with the UltraStudio 4K Extreme. I assume the UltraStudio is the same box as the Avid branded unit but I wonder if it would allow your to run Avid's version of the Video Desktop driver software, which is currently on Ver. 7.0 I think.
I wonder if there really is value in Avid blessing the box. Traditionally the logic would be that given Avid put their name on it they will be more diligent about making sure it interfaces properly in the Avid world. Also it has two power connections. Does the Ultrastudio have the same dual power supply setup? I remember someone joking in the past about Avid's unit came with two power cords but BM unit did not. Did that mean the BM box doesn't have dual power supplys or did it mean it just had one cord?

Anyone here using Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Extreme? I don't want to pay the extra 1K for an Avid sticker on the same box. Just trying to see if there are any issues folks are having?
