I have been under the impression that the DNxIO PCIe connection is compatible with existing NitrsDX PCIe HBA as long as the NitisDX is not too old.
I can confirm that my NitrisDX circa 2012's HBA and cable works on my DNxIO on my home MacPro system. At work I have an SNDX circa 2009. I compared the PCIe cable to the one I got with the DNxIO and they seem identical and my DNxIO PCIe cable seems to plug into the back of the NitrisDX at work. Does that mean it will work? I know I've read where older NitrisDX HBA/PCIe cables don't work on the DNxIO. I had always thought that meant the actual cable was a different connector and it wouldn't even plug in. Now that I see this 2009 ish NitrisDX at work has the same connector I'm wondering if there might be something about the HBA card and not the cable that is why I remember hearing I couldn't use the DNxIO with older NitrisDX interconnects?
Does anyone else remember what I'm talking about. I don't think I came up with this from an Acid flash back but my mind can play tricks on me.
