RE: [Avid-L2] Can you lock Export settings? (Feature Request)

Good ideas, both.

Where I ended up was to create a couple "Send To" templates which seem to at least make it less likely that the export setting will be compromised.

I will add it to the site settings (and to each existing user, argh!) and back it up elsewhere.

It seems so obvious that there should be a way to lock these settings down so that an organization can standardize without such a big chance for error.  At least some prompt that lets you not save over a setting so easily.

You might try dropping the export setting into your site settings.

Export settings are part of User settings, and User settings can't be set to read-only, because MC will just give errors. Best option is once you have a good user setting with everything you like for export settings, make a copy somewhere (personal GDrive or Dropbox is a good spot). Then any time it goes awry, just dump the settings folder for your user and replace with the safe copy.

Helped a customer create some custom export settings – but they keep getting overwritten.

I can't seem to find a way to lock them or at least have a way to go back to the correct settings.

Any good hacks out there?
