[Avid-L2] Safe Color doesn't unrender with color correction change etc...?

On  a mid 2010 MacPro Upgraded to 12 Core 3.33GHz 24 GB ram, OS 10.9.5 MC 8.5.2.  In a true 4K 4096x2160 23.976P project 709 color space I am finding a bug in my upper track safe color effect not unrendering when I change color correction on the shot below when there are two layers of Paint Effect.  V1 is source material DNxHRHQX from a Panny 35 varicam ama linked and transcoded to the HQX.  V2 is a paint effect with a box covering a prompter in the shot the effect is darken only (to take the white prompter text to the surrounding black color).  V3 is the same effect of the box only I change the mode to blur so the area of the prompter is slightly fuzzed out.  V5 has a safe color limit in 422 mode set 16-235 (the same safe color settings I always use).  Now if I render the safe color it's fine with a complete render.  If I go back and change the color correction on the V1 shots I find that all but the area with the two paint effects unrenders on the safe color effect.  It seems that having two layers of paint effect is somehow fooling the upper track safe color effect to not register the level change and unrender.  It is only in a couple sections where I have double layer paint effects I see this error.  I can manually clear the render in to out on the safe color track and then rerender but something is definitely fishy.  The paint effects are not render but I tried clearing in to out on their tracks too but it had no effect.  I don't know if this behavior is unique to the paint effects which have tracking or if it's any double layer effects.  In one case the double layer paint effect was nested in a 3D warp and still it acted weird so I think it's the double layer paint effects.

I didn't have this issue on another very similar show.  The only difference now that I can see is I am rendering to ProResHQ and DNxHRHQX.  I choose to render to ProResHQ because if facilitates a ProResHQ QT Ref that the QC facility will accept but they won't take DNxHR.

Anybody seeing this quirky behavior?
