[Avid-L2] Correct version of Avid_Artist Desktop_Video for Avid 8.5.3 etc...

On the download center I see Avid_Artist_Desktop_Video driver software for the DNxIO.  Ver. 10.7 says tested to MC 8.6 and Ver. 10.5.4 says tested to MC 8.4.5.  I infer from this that for Avid MC 8.5.3 I should use the Ver. 10.7.  Is that correct.  I had a black magic version of the Video desktop installed, I can't remember which version but it was for my old SDSDI I/O card.  I ran the black magic video desktop 10.6 software to uninstall the existing version I had.  I assume any version of the desktop video from Black Magic will uninstall any version it finds.  It is my understanding that the "Avid" version of the Video_Desktop software is preferred over the generic BM versions.  From what I see on the download center there is no OS mentioning so I guess as long as I'm successfully running MC 8.5.3 on OS 10.9.5 on my mid 2012 MacPro 12 core 2.66GHz with 64GB ram then I should go with the 10.7 latest version of the Avid_Artist_Desktop_Video on the download center.  Can anyone confirm this?

I have a NitrisDX on my system and it is my understanding that given my NitrisDX is the mid 2012 version it has the same HBA interconnect cable as the DNxIO and I shouldn't have to swap HBA card but can just unplug the cable going into the NitrisDX and put it in the DNxIO.  Is this true?  What is the proper term for the interconnect cable from the HBA to the Avid Nitris?  Is it some for of external PCIe connector, I just can't remember the proper name for that style of connector/cable.  For an expansion chassis I have the interconnect is: "Standard iPass type per the PCI Express External Cabling Specification."  I have also heard Nexis can use a 10 GB copper cable is that "Twin-Ex" or some name that sounds like that?  That cable connects the Nexis chassis to the switch.  I know it's not the same type of cable as the NitrisDX interconnect but that's another one I've been hearing about but forgetting the exact name.  Old Age has it's downside.  ;-(

At any rate bottom line is if the connector that feeds my NitrisDX is the same as the one on the DNxIO I should be able to swap the cables physically and have the DNxIO work right?  I know Bogdan has systems that bounce between NitrisDX for Universal Mastering and DNxIO for other things so I assume that is how the system is switched.

Also following up on digital cuts through the DNxIO and if the frame of black issue was resolved.  In a thread a few weeks back Mr. Bogdan said he thought that had been fixed but he was going to have someone check that out specifically checking if the DNxIO does proper digital cuts without adding a frame of black and offsetting the sequence 1 frame like pervious BM hardware and Video Desktop software had done.  Any results on that test?
