I've spent a good part of the day taking the editing features in Resolve 12.5 for a test drive. Now, after 7 years at Avid, I admit I have a huge bias towards Media Composer and the Smart Tool, among other brilliantly designed features.
That said, I'd like this group to weigh in on the merits and failings of Resolve as an editor. I frequently did competitive analysis on Premiere and the FCPs 7 and X when I was with Avid, and though I always preferred Media Composer, I also found a lot to like in the Adobe and Apple NLEs. I'm not feeling the editing love with Resolve so far.
Is it just a matter of time behind the wheel, or do others feel Resolve misses the mark as all but the most basic of editors?
