[Avid-L2] Re: Running 7 streams of multigroup with Nexus 2 bonded 1GB ethernet connections?

John,

When using two Ethernet connection with ISIS/NEXIS we call this Avid Adaptive Load Balancing. It isn't technically bonding as each NIC has it's own IP address. But it does improve performance and reliability.

Are you using an ISIS|7500 or NEXIS? The performance characteristics are very different between the two and no one should conflate the two.

To ensure there won't be any issues we always add an additional stream for our multicam calculations.
So for a 6 x Multicam we would do the calculations for 7 Streams of DNx145; for the Video alone this is 126MB/s.   This should fit into a 2x1GigE connection without issue but there are a lot of details that I'd need to know to say for sure.

Please feel free to contact me off list or reply here.

Regards,
Bob
