Re: [Avid-L2] Open GL and Avid FX

Terry's suggestion is good but I will also recommend what has also been recommended in this thread.  Contact Boris directly.  I have found Boris folks to be incredibly helpful on every issue I've had from licensing to how an effect works.  I have even sent sample footage that the designer of the Flicker Fix and others have tried to create presets for me to use on problematic footage.  That's a big reason I am a fan of Boris.  It's getting harder and harder to find professional support on products we use every day.  Boris, Avid, AJA, Genarts are some of my favorites in this regard.  If you can't get a hold of Boris hit me offlist and I will see if my contact can help.  Trust me I'm no one special so I doubt you will need my help contacting them but if you do I'd be glad to help get you connected.

Your computer has Open GL so this shouldn't be an issue. Boris has a good PDF on how Open GL works with Boris Red (Avid FX) and there may be some hints in there for you.

I run MC 8.4.2 on my late 2013 27" iMac.
16 GB Ram, 4GB on the video card.
It was best card available, and I think
it is supposed to support Open GL.

Hardware is not my strong suit.
So, the Avid FX Open GL filters are greyed out
when I try to use them.  I have poked around the settings
but nothing I do gets them working.

This is a pain, as I bring projects home from work, where we have
an HP Z440, and they run fine.  Can't even open them at home, though.

Does anyone know what piece of the puzzle I am missing?
I posted on both Avid and CC forums with no responses.
I am hoping the obvious depth of expertise here
may shed some light.

Thanks!
