i generally mix "in-the-box" as i would with pro tools, using keyframes with clip gain on the audio tracks. i use my audio mixer - a yamaha, but mackie's are also great - for monitoring, adding VO, etc.

I have a project coming up where i will need to do lots of temp mixes
for presentations. What mixer are people using with the avid these days?
I see a lot of used Digi 002 and command 8s will these work with a
current avid?
