RE: [Avid-L2] Re: More "restructuring"

Mike –

Move to Oregon!  They are still required to pump your gas here.  Might even get your window washed.

None of us 'outsiders' know what's going on really. They're back on the stock market. We've got the best edit systems they've ever made.

Personally I'll cut them some slack. The post industry is in massive realignment right now. Autodesk dropped a lot of people recently too.

I'd be interested to see what the people being dropped do. As the whole world transitions to online purchases the concept of sales teams becomes a bit outmoded. What's more concerning is as we move ever more to online forums (fora? Can't remember) the support teams seem to shrink.

It's soon going to be a self service world, click to order, Google to fix. Personally I preferred the days when someone put the petrol in my car while someone washed the bugs off my windscreen. But shells qr code fill and go is just how it's going to be.

What amazes me is that they seemed to have burned through all that cash they had piled up just a few years ago.  Way to go, Louie.  Great transition.
