Re: [Avid-L2] Apple ProRes HQ vs. ProRes422 Byte Me!!!? Now Archive Approach

Not to my knowledge but I notice the L2 has been sending me offlist emails of any thread I reply too.  This is in addition to the digest I get a few times a day depending on the volume of traffic.  Perhaps I responded to the offlist email I received and that multplied up.  Or maybe it's just those out of work bits messing with you NBC peeps.  Don't they say something about a bit scorned will never let up?

Mr. Dennis,
All kidding aside what procedures does NBC and the Today show use for long term archiving of material?  If you need to pull video from a Today show piece from a year or more ago where do you go and how is that media accessible?  Back in the tape day it would be a trip to the ABC vault for me but I never worked in the vault so I don't know how long things were kept around.  What's the day in day out archive scheme at a major network like?

Okay I can't help myself here.  I hope NBC realizes how many bits they are putting out of work with their stingy data ways.  Downtown LA is filled with millions of homeless bits living in cardboard drive boxes.  I hope NBC is happy.

I note:

BTW John, I received your message from the Avid List 3 times.  I wonder if you are sending it multiple times . . .
