I repeat:

There are ways to fool a Mac into installing an earlier version of the OS, but I wouldn't recommend it because the hardware may not be as stable.  Since Apple makes both the hardware and the operating system, they can afford to make changes in the hardware that may not be accommodated by older OS versions.  It is always best to operate a computer using a version of the OS intended for that computer.  Installing a 'clean system' actually has nothing to do with it.
