A customer of mine uses a Veil / BVS (Kantar) encoding system that embeds something called AEIS into the audio stream of SD SDI.
On identical systems (z420-Avid Spec, Mojo DX), when playing back clips that have been “Veiled,” the one running Media Composer 5.5.5 works correctly and the AEIS can be detected. On any system running 8.4, the Veil crashes. I have repeated this on multiple Avids – 5.5.5 works, 8.4 does not.
Anyone have any insight into what might be going on? Some new default setting perhaps?
