compensation: Position pays $35-$42 (DOE, EOE) once hired.

The video and post-production team within the cinematics department is focused on creating industry-leading video content to support all of Cascade Entertainment's titles and is looking for a dedicated video editor. This person must have strong professional editorial experience and outstanding communications skills. He / she must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.

This person will be responsible for performing the functions of a video editor for a wide range of various projects, working with a mix of game capture, live action footage, motion graphics, music, and sound effects--all with a high degree of responsibility. This person must be versatile and able to use temp imagery, temp music, temp dialogue, and temp SFX, as well as editing music to create works that excite, inform, and tell story. This editor will be heavily involved in creating marketing content for internet release and should have experience editing short-form commercials, trailers, and sizzle reels. This editor will also be involved in creating long-form behind-the-scenes content and should be comfortable telling story in a documentary-style medium.

He / she must be able to operate with varying degrees of supervision, taking ownership when needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and iteration. They must also be able to update and organize footage, generate reviewable files, and handle final deliveries of necessary formats with or without the aid of an assistant editor.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years' experience in professional editorial in a film, television, or videogame cinematics environment
Deep knowledge of Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere Pro
Strong ability to edit music to maximize impact
Good sense of timing, pacing, and controlling story flow through editing
Knowledge of advanced video compression techniques and associated software packages
Knowledge of current post-production industry-standard workflows and organization
Highly self-motivated with excellent communications skills
Able to work well under tight deadlines and quick project turnover
Able to work closely with directors, producers, and with other team members
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

Pluses
A demonstrated personal interest in music, dance, or other rhythmic art form
Experience with motion graphics and working with Adobe After Effects
Experience with Color Correction theory and systems (Avid Symphony or DaVinci Resolve)
Animation / 3D Effects / Storyboarding / or other related skill
