In our testing (a few years old now) Teranex was marginally superior at scaling to Snell’s Alchemist, but no-one has ever come close to the Ph C for motion compensated frame rate conversion. Software has caught up in most of these areas. If realtime hardware based throughput is required then it becomes a matter of need versus cost. If frame rates are not changing, the Teranex provides better bang for the buck. If there is a lot of pull-down I your workflow, the exponential cost of S&W Alchemist becomes part of the equation.
