I saw Bob L. at Editware this past NAB and thanked him for still being around.  I did, however, make him promise to never manufacture a scratch and sniff jogger pad again.  He promised with a smile.

I have fond memories of cmx and ace edit controllers but the companies i miss much more. The business won't see the likes of Dave bargen, Jack calaway, Eric peters and the rest again. We are firmly in the world of programming teams and design by commitee and focus groups and something pure has been lost in that transition.

(From memory: Radius VV, some boards i cannot even remember but were bad, M100 first gen, M100 second gen, Avid Meridian, M100 844x, BM yadda, Avid Mojo, Edius IO, Avid adrenaline (still got one for sale, incl. DNxHD board, whoa!)
And that is just specific hardwware, and does not include all the hardware converters that also did video / audio io
 
I've trashed a good house in value of obsolete hardware, that got written off in less than a couple of years.
This is what it is.
 
Oh, let's invest in 4K! Then I'll live forever without any future needs!

Bittersweet. I joined Avid just as the DX was announced. I outlived a generation of hardware.
