Re: [Avid-L2] Re: 1080p 23.98sf to 1080i 59.94 with BMD Ultrastudio 4K

I have a Teranex 2D.

I also have a few Nitris DX systems.

I never use Universal Mastering or the Teranex 2D for pulldown insertion.

I always use my previously stated mixdown method. That way I can have rock solid machine editing with zero offsets from any of my MC stations.

Yes, the one thing I lose is when making changes after layoff, I can't just edit from the master sequence. But for that, I simply mixdown the edit piece, bring into the 59.94i project, and drop it in where it should go.

This method has saved countless headaches over the past 5 years.

I have to check.  I'm outputting a version now but I think the Teranex offset was either 3 or 4 frames, plus the offset to get the 29DF tc to start at the right place playing back from 23.98.  The weird thing with the Teranex offset is that if I went say, 3 frames,  1:00:00:00 mark from the sequence would be at 1:00:00;01 on field 2 on tape, but if I offset 4 frames, the start time on the tape would be at 1:00:00:02 on field 1.  Not a huge fan of the 2D Teranex.
