it all depends on your delivery format and specs.
Our research showed MacCaption and Harmonic ProMedia Carbon as the only apps that can reliably caption in HD.
They are both ~6K.

closed captioning files to Media Composer sequences? Are there

We've used MC to capture and re-output captioning, even do some crude
editing of the CC - but I need to be able to add CC without necessarily
going out of house for the encoding. (Normally we use Alpha Dogs)
