Thanks everyone for suggestions
I have to mention that they record feeds from different sources: some live cameras are ingested via EVS (I think). Syncying EVS is easy. But most of the records are made with EXCAM EX, on cards. That brings tons of clips. I've suggested them the workflow descibed in " bulletproof Avid multigroup" doc, but they refused to do it like this.. after they showed me their timelineI understand why. Even for small periods like 1h, there are lot subclips to be made, as they have 8 video tracks, at least 6 are XDCAM, it could be that there are also some GoPro.. etc
It is simply not feasible to do it like this, those milions of subclips will kill their interplay.
Playback speed on multicam has not been an issue before, they are doing multicam with 9 streams of DNxHD@120Mbps, with dual connected clients on ISIS 5000.
What is annnoing is the fact that you cannot multicam seqeunces, and the fact that only 24 audio tracks are allowed in sequence.
I will suggest them to ingest everything in EVS, but they will not love this since it will require wireless transmiters from camera. Then there will be a lot of wasted space, since it could be that only 2 or 3 camera have action on it, but the rest have to be recorded to keep it in sync.
