Well folks, there is a gotcha in store for you dongle users. I upgraded all my dongles. Some with the older dongle manager, and some with the application manager installed with 8.2. All of them return an error about incorrect system end date when used with 8.3. The only fix is to do the update again once 8.3 is installed.
Apparently there is some change in 8.3 that affects the dongle update. Now, this would be no big issue except that I had trashed the updater files after I updated the dongles. No problem, just redownload them. Oops, only about half would let me do that. The rest wanted me to enter the activation code. Of course the activation code was already used. So… Marianna saved the day.
Short story, install 8.3 before you do the updates. and keep your updater files just in case.
