This isn't necessarily a problem with ProRes Proxy files. It's a problem you run into any time there's a perceived corruption in the source file. If you AMA the file, can you scrub through it in the viewer? All the way through without it throwing up an error? Open in QuickTime player - can you do the same? Does it stall at any point? If so, that is the answer to your issue.
ProRes Proxy as mentioned before is just another variant of the same codec.
ProRes 4444 = ProRes 330ProRes Proxy as mentioned before is just another variant of the same codec.

Could really use a suggestion here. Im under a very fast turnaround and got the pro res proxy files yesterday late. 4 files at 40GB. I tried to AMA and transcode but keep getting same error. Exception: Failed to get the sample position from the AMA Plug-in.
I tried to import overnight but after 12 and a half hours I got one file. I need to start cutting today. Rebooted linked via AMA and tried to transcode just one file but got the same error. WTF?? Why am I getting this? I have never worked with ProRes proxy files so I'm not in my element here.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.
thanks
