Once you get it set up, it is no muss, no fuss. All in all, well worth the investment.
The Duet Display app is very handy as well. Throw the iPad in the computer bag and you have a dual monitor system on location. When I am cutting with it (so far only in X) I toss all my Library and Events onto the iPad and make the clips as large as possible for ease on the eyes. This frees up a lot of real estate on the MBP monitor for cutting.
