Re: [Avid-L2] A vid license Software needs Admin priviledge?

I was told the system would launch as an administrator but not as non administrator.  I inferred that they had bounce between them more than once.  I will pass this on too.  Very good information thanks.

The doc states you only need to run as admin once after installing MC (after the system reboot).  Then it should be fine to run as a regular user from then on.  Not needed to run as an admin anymore,   If that's not happening, then he has a problem.

Thanks for the info I will pass it on.  Yes there is an RTFM moment here.  My friend may have remembered this as he said he thought that was what was causing the issue.  He then did a test on the dongle system we were on and it behaved as non administrator fine.

One of the issues faced more and more is IT security required by the big studios etc...  Having to run as an administrator can conflict with required security procedures.  I see that you can be a non administrator once the workspaces/volumes are mounted.  Given how often workspaces and volumes are mounted and unmounted during a typical day this is a potential head ache for IT security.  It would be nice if this could be modified to not require administrator privileges for day to day edit operations.
