Good question. At some point the new licenses (SW or dongle) won't let you launch the older versions.
And the biggest rub in my opinion: at the very moment Avid is asking us to purchase 12 months of updates and upgrades and support in advance, they take out two important features. Not a great move when you are asking customers for a vote of confidence. We just pay 299 and hope for the best?

Hm. What about those of us on v. 7.3 Symphony systems who are clinging to our stranded PhraseFind and Script Sync? Will be forced to upgrade to 8 with this new policy?
