Hi John,
I recently shot some underwater footage with a go Pro Hero 2 and my file structure looks like your picture Go Pro File Structure 04.tiff - only JPG and MP4 files. Unless I deleted thm files, none of my backed up Go Pro cards include thm files including the 3D files (Left and Right) I shot with the 3D rig. I just shot a 6 second video with the same camera and it only created an MP4 file.
Hope this helps,
Paul

Subject: [Avid-L2] Proper or standard File Structure for GoPro media? [3 Attachments]
I'm trying to take advantage of QTPro's ability to add time code based on the .thm file and it's working for .mov. For GoPro footage it was suggested to use the mp4 to QT also from VideoToolShed. I purchased a copy and am testing with various GoPro files we have at work. I'm seeing varying file structures and I'm not sure what i would expect to see from the camera card directly. Our AEs converted the .MP4 files to .mov and left them in the same folder. Some folders have a DCIM folder structure, which seems more like the camera file structure to me, and some don't. Also some have .thm files in the folders and some don't. I'm attaching some screen grabs to show what I'm seeing. I would have expected to see as many .thm folders as the .MP4 files but that doesn't seem to be the case. One of the AE's said they had thought the .thm folders were thumb nail files and delete many of them so I'm left with incomplete examples to test. Can anyone tell me what the basic file structure from a GoPro is, or are there different versions for different models?
