You know my prep tool Subbits can export to DS?
However, personally i always render bitmaps and overlay them, as the SubCap plugin still sucks IMHO.
(no decent outline control, no decent centering, very often trouble with cropped fonts.)
So while you're at it, start nagging at Avid to improve that...

We use InqScribe for the preparation of captions and subtitles. I know we are not alone.
