Mike, skip fit to fill. Instead, you'll fall in love with Trim to Fill (Timewarp category) 
when you render it out as either of the blended flavors, 
or as Fluid Motion -- though the render times with Fluid Motion are loooong, with the right footage it can look amazing.

I have a bigger problem with 99% speed effects to be honest. Same number of frames just a stutter in the middle.

Nothing like hour long shots sped up to play in 3 seconds.  I'm over it.  Just remember every time you cut in an extreme motion effect there's someone in post online that dies a little inside.  ;-(
