[Avid-L2] What the LUTs? How do I manipulate LUTs in Avid or Resolve? [2 Attachments]

I am processing Avid DNX 175X logC that was delivered by the DIT from an Arri shoot.  I'm using Resolve 9 and it's working fine when I apply an output lut.  The DIT gave me a costume LUT he told me he liked better so I used that and also used the standard Resolve built in LUT to get to 709.  I notice a slight difference in the two luts when I look at the baked out media back in Avid.  It seems the costume 3D LUT clips the Red channel up high and the Resolve standard Lut lets the Red channel go down to 0.  Is it possible to open the LUT in Resolve and examine the differnces?  I see there is a way to save costume LUTs but I haven't played with that yet.  Not sure why the DIT supplied LUT is clipping the bottom of the Red channel.  Comparing the two the levels above the clip point are very similar so it doesn't look like there a big setup level or gain change happening in the red channel but it is clipped.  I'll probably clip it in color correction anyways but my gut says to go with the standard Resolve LUT where I see no clipping.  I'm attaching scope screen grabs but I don't know if they will go through.  Maybe once the thread is started I can add the files through the group page.  I forget if we can now include small images in the body of posts.
