I'll be in NYC next week and I have a 16mm reel to transfer to file so that I can use it in the digital age. It's an editing exercice that we used to do, back in the days when students learn to cut on film. There is about 20 minutes of rushes.
I'm going to use it for a workshop at a Film Festival, so needless to say our budget isn't massive. Then at the same time, it's probably not pristine conditions -- old transfer, reduction from Color 35mm neg -- so don't need the top of the range 4K transfer. HD would be nice for screening though.
The sound is on a separate reel, on 16mm mag.
Any suggestion in NYC?
