If that genuinely is two samples apart on that curve I'm thinking there's no analogue circuit on earth capable of responding :)

I totally agree with compression being  evil but then it's not so long ago cinemas had no hf (academy) and tvs had no lf (tiny tv speaker). Tvcs here in Bangkok still fight the volume wars 0vu is seen as a challenge.

As a flame guy I generally just get handed a track so it's really not my job to be fixing these things but as we can't put out masters to digital services with the tracks provided I've stepped up and found solutions.

Thanks again for everyone's input it made it much easier - I'm quite a fan of the nugen stuff now though so I think my search is over.
