I'm all for a financially solvent Avid -- as we all lose our investments without it. The emphasis of this year's show makes complete sense to me. And I think Avid is doing exactly what they need to do in order to generate revenue and maintain competitive parity.
However , the message at the booth seems abundantly clear – don't hold your breath for many of the important wish list items we have been asking for -- for well over a decade.
And at the risk of appearing somewhat snarky (which is not my intent), giving a new Avid management team time to turn the ship around is something we have done several times before.
In all fairness to Avid, and as Steve mentioned, our needs may simply not be aligned with Avid's.
