I liked the Sony Xpri.
As a short anecdote, I was at the Sony booth with Terry Curren about 10 years ago when they were actively marketing XPRI and this sales guy comes up to us and says "This is a serious editor. Actually, The Oprah Winfrey Show has killed all of their Avids and switched over 30 edit bays to Xpri." The only problem was that I was one of the Oprah editors at the time and had been editing on Avid at Oprah about 48 hours previous to this statement. I asked the guy if he was sure of his facts and he said he absolutely was. That's when I said, "Hmmm. I'm an editor on the show and was just cutting on Avid last week. There ARE three Xpris, kind of tucked into a back corner to do fast capture of the multicam. Are you sure you don't mean that Oprah has a few Xpris and they actually do the majority of their work on Avid still?" And the guy goes, "Oh yeah... I think we only have three over there..."
Believing in the snake oil of the NAB snake oil salesmen is NEVER a smart idea.

The 64 bit move and UI upgrades are supposed to make the move to resolution independence possible. As for comparisons to Sony, they actually had XPRI in their booth this year. :-0
