Okay I'm a DVD simpleton and have used iDVD for my screeners done at home. Can someone explain the possible cause for a true 24 BD to not play smoothly when 23.98 BD does. Is the video essence a true progressive when it's true 24 and psf when it's 23.98? Would something like that account for the better smooth motion with the 23.98? It seems to me there would be no appreciable data rate difference between the two format choices. I remember some monitors didn't like psf signals over HDMI coming from avid or was it HDMI converted to SDI feeding the monitors. IIRC the Panny plasma sdi board worked well but other combos didn't handle it correctly do to the psf nature of the signal. Any enlightenment appreciated.
