Re: [Avid-L2] Avid's biggest challenges

As an enterprise customer, I would disagree.

Does Black Magic have the resources to support the end-to-end broadcast workflow we've built with Avid? ISIS-7000, 60+ connected edit clients, Interplay PAM and Interplay MAM (née Blue Order), Airspeed Ingest and playout.

Maybe they do but that degree of enterprise support is very important to us. If my boss says to me tomorrow, "We're throwing all of this in the garbage and going with another vendor", that would be my first question for potential alternatives.

Having seen how Resolve has improved my money would be firmly on BMD.

Well I provided the Resolve Techs with aaf issues and samples on round tripping specifically aimed at why it can handle drop and non drop time code properly and I've never heard back.  YMMV  I admit that I didn't keep hounding them like I do about other things but I've never thought of or found tech support particularly good with BlackMagic.  Perhaps things have changed for the better.  I'd rather AJA bought avid from a tech support angle.
